About Me

Katherine is a California girl, born & raised along the Central Coast.  As a young adult, she attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where she enjoyed studying topics such as art history, foreign languages & religious studies.  In 2001 she graduated with a degree in art history.  Soon after, she began working for the family real estate appraisal business and pursued her passion for seeing the world through her travels to the Caribbean, Mexico & Italy.

Katherine strongly identifies with traditional - conservative values, believes in the power of prayer and strives to practice the concept of J.O.Y. in her daily life: Jesus 1st; Others 2nd; Yourself last.  She longs for the days when women took pride in homemaking & caring for their families and encourages her gal pals to whole-heartily embrace the traditional role of wife and mother as prescribed by biblical principle:

Proverbs 31: 26-31 - She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.  Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Katherine met the love of her life, Jason, a New York native and U.S. Army Major when he was stationed in Monterey, California.  In January 2011 they were thrilled to welcome their precious daughter and named her Hannah; meaning "God has favored me".  Two months after Hannah's birth, her husband received orders to report to the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois where he is now stationed.  They live about a half an hour away in the rural farming community of Geneseo, Illinois.  As a military wife, she understands the importance of her role as a "helpmate" to her husband and fully relies on the grace of God to get through the many unknown variables of army life.  Her future travel goals include being able to say that she has visited all 50 U.S. states (a somewhat attainable goal as a military wife) as well as making trips to the British Isles, Greece & Israel.
