A Little Christmas Cheer!

I just could not resist posting this video I captured last week of our new little kitten, Mr. Butters.  I was trying to test and untangle christmas lights and of course, Mr. Butters thought that the strands of lights were the perfect play-thing.  I felt this video really captured the spirit of Christmas.  It filled my heart with joy when I watched it and I just wanted to spread the cheer.  Be sure to have the volume up so you can hear the song in background & enjoy!

CHRISTMAS KITTY

Luke 1:41 - When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Luke 2:10-11 - And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

"Shortcut" Chocolate Turtles

Hi Y'all!

Long time, no blog post...I know...I know...Well needless to say things were rather hectic since the BIG move to the Midwest and I've had to wait quite a while for the Midwestern dust to settle so to speak.  As I write this, I'm still trying to get over the fact that my silly computer erased my entire blog entry, so this is my second attempt.  Ha!  Anyhow, being the traditional gal that I am, I know that all of my faithful blog followers are sure to understand that while blogging is my passion, it comes second to God and my family.  But praise God! I have finally found some precious time to embrace my passion and I hereby commit myself to posting on a regular, monthly basis.  :)  So with no further ado, I would like to share this fabulous recipe I came across the other day.  It is from one of my favorite blog-sites, Women Living Well, and was posted by guest blogger Janel.  It is called super easy rolo turtles and here is the link:  http://womenlivingwell.org/2011/12/quick-super-easy-roloturtles/.

Egg Nog - A Holiday Family Favorite

Welcome Back!

Time to share another one of my family traditions with all of you.  Egg Nog!  Yumm...one of my family's favorites that I make each Christmas & one I am going to prepare ahead of time tonight.  I've relied on the same recipe year after year from my Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook.

Keeping Christ in Christmas

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." - Luke 2:11

I’ve been thinking a lot about the true meaning of Christmas lately.  It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle & bustle of the season.  What was once a religious holiday that focused on the birth of our Savior has sadly, for many, become no more than a commercialized holiday where department stores mislead us into thinking that the only way to achieve happiness and celebrate the season is by maxing out the credit card.

A Holiday Favorite Gets a Healthy Makeover

Good Morning Ladies!

Well, here we are half way through December and only 9 days until Christmas.  Hard to believe!  I had the day off from work yesterday, so I was busy kicking the Christmas spirit into high-gear.   I finished decking the halls, mailed out the Christmas cards & began my favorite holiday pastime, baking cookies!  Yum!   I found this recipe online and wanted to share with all of you.
